Welcome to the Daughters of Charity Community Services and thank you for visiting our website. The Daughters of Charity Community Services is a community education organisation of the Daughters of Charity Services of St. Vincent de Paul. We are located in the north inner city area of Dublin in the Republic of Ireland.
The Daughters of Charity Community Services (formerly St. Vincent's Trust) was founded in 1975 in response to the educational and other needs of marginalized youth in our area. Over the following thirty years, the organisation went on to develop into a wide-based community education programme for local children, youth, adults and families who, for a variety of reasons, were not able to derive the expected benefits from their experience of mainstream education.
Today, the Daughters of Charity Community Services provide six distinct services which are operated using an integrated services model and approach, as follows:
St. Mary's Nursery: an early education and childcare service for young children from low income families;
The Henrietta Street School: a high support school for older children at-risk.
St. Vincent's Community Training Centre: a community training provision for early school leavers and socially vulnerable young people.
The Henrietta Adult and Community Education Service: an adult and community education service for adults desiring to return to learning.
The Henrietta Senior Citizen Service - a social care and educational service for older persons in the community.
The Taca Clann Community Development Project: an inter-agency and cross-community initiative for which the Daughters of Charity Community Services is the management agency.
