In the spirit of the Daughters of Charity, St. Mary’s Nursery is committed to working with young children who live in the local community, recognising their individual needs and providing them with a nurturing environment.
Activities and programmes are driven by the principles of early education and care, where all aspects of development can be enhanced and promoted in order to give the child the best possible start in life. We also aim to give support whenever possible to his/her parents or family.
Our Guiding Principles and Approach:
- To work within the guidelines of the Childcare Act (1991). The Child Care (Pre-School Services) (No 2) Regulations 2006 and Child Care (Pre-school Services) (No 2) (Amendment) Regulations 2006
- To create a caring and secure environment for both children and carers.
- To treat all children in our care equally and to respect their individuality.
- To prioritise the children with the most immediate needs and to ensure that the child’s needs are always met.
- To be sensitive to the role of the carer, and in particular to receive
information from them and to give them feedback.
- To work as a team.
- To change with and respond to the current times.
